We are pleased to announce the eighth biennial meeting of the International Association for the Study of Sexuality, Culture and Society (IASSCS) called "Name and define: the construction of the (lack of) sexual equality." This conference is co-organized by the Department of Social Anthropology at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, Spain. The 2011 conference theme focuses on the multiple ways in which equality and inequality are articulated through sexuality. In this meeting we will explore different themes and situations (in) equity and sexuality in the global arena by bringing together researchers, advocates, public policy makers and practitioners to critically share strategies and challenges that inform and inspire new forms of action and thinking around sexuality.
